Product Description

New from rowenta, the DZ9080 Advancer Iron. A completely new construction technique provides the rowenta Microsteam soleplate with the best ever steam and heat distribution for the most effective ironing. More than 400 microsteam holes ensure even and optimal steam distribution from tip of the soleplate to the rounded rear for fast, expert results with ease. The high quality stainless steel soleplate is attached to the heavy aluminum core in a unique way that provides an ultra smooth surface with a thin edge that can iron up to buttons, seams and delicate fabrics without snagging. The unique Platinium treated stainless steel soleplate provides an excellent glide and the scratch resistant properties of the stainless steel produces a harder surface with better non stick and non scratch properties. Maintaining the correct temperature is key to good ironing performance and garment care. The DZ9080 has an electronic temperature control that combines sensitive electronic sensors and controls with LED lights in an easy-to use-system. Steam Advance system, the key to easier ironing. Delicate steam is used for delicate fabrics that require gentle care. High pressure steam for thicker fabrics and tough wrinkles. Steam is created under pressure ensures a deep penetration into the fabric to relax the fibers and let wrinkles be pressed out in ease. An automatic pause between bursts of steam allows the heat of the iron to remove the remaining steam and set the press. The high precision tip allows for easy ironing in all tough to reach areas; seams, collars, pockets, and around buttons. Comes with a 1 year warranty.

Customer Buzz
I've heard cons on this iron that it is too heavy, but once you lay it on the fabric, the wrinkles flee with the greatest of ease! The steam given off is great. It is worth the price.

In quilting I need an iron that can really press down the seams of my work. This iron does it with no problems. I would recommend to anyone who likes clean, crisp seams on their sewing projects. Well worth the money you pay for it.

Customer Buzz
Parent company in France has strange Gallic customer service concepts (arrogance) for a competitive world.

Irons well - with a little shoulder ache at the end of the day if you don't position the ironing board height well as it is so heavy.

Prone to dropping dead. No sense of good will customer service. Customer service - wrong word, wrong rules. Pleaseant (frustrated) Americans have to provide service according to French Rules. Checking around with friends who buy the best - all have same experience. Unit breaks shortly after warranty of 1 year finished - need another one as service cost rivals new iron. Trying a T-fal before I do this a fourth time.

I have never had a Rowenta iron before so I didn't know what I was missing out on. This is the best iron I've ever had. Despite it's size, it isn't heavy. It is spendy but I doubt I will ever need another iron.

Outstanding product. Handles great and has awesome steam functions. Everything I was looking for and more! Also a pretty good price considering the features and quality.

Customer Buzz
Big dollars for a steam iron but the some of best money I've ever spent. I bought this for my wife as her 40th wedding anniversary present (just kidding). She just loves it and says it almost makes her look forward to ironing. I've noticed it actually takes her less time to complete her ironing and the clothes looks better. Again, some of the best money I've ever spent.

Customer Buzz
At first I thought that maybe it was too heavy, but it really is everything that I've never
had in an iron--a large capacity well, a wide range of temperatures and a smoth sole plate.
The burst of steam is perfect for setting a crease in chinos & it takes 1/2 the time to make
them look the way I want them. I almost love to iron!

I've owned this iron for a month now. I've been a seamstress for many years, and have exacting requirements for an iron. I'm very pleased with this one. Had no problems; it worked out of the box, and didn't leak, smoke, or drip as other reviewers have cautioned. It puts out lots of steam, gets very hot at the uppermost settings. The weight is good - it makes pressing much easier. I do have arthritis, but the weight is not too much for me even over long periods of use. I like the heat control warnings. I hadn't had a iron with them before, and I didn't think they would be very useful. But, I find that, when working with different fabrics, it's great to know when the iron has cooled enough to be safe to use on a more delicate one. I have nothing negative to say about this iron and recommend it unconditionally.

Customer Buzz
Shocking isn't it that such an expensive iron would consistently fail in the same way? I think Rowenta knows that a high price and a "made in Germany" sticker will help it sell more units then its terrible reputation will scare away potential new customers... so they go their merry way selling 3rd rate irons. Admittedly, I fell for the high price status symbol too, because in the real world you believe you get what you pay for. My rowenta up and died just before the warranty expired, and I shipped it to the service center after getting a return authorization. So after 3 weeks... nothing. I called them and they claimed they never got the iron! Ha that's what tracking numbers are for. So they finally "gave in" and said they will ship me a replacement, in a mere 4 weeks! What? I raised holy hell and got it down to 2 weeks.
I expect when this replacement arrives it will last about the typical 6 months, then I'm through with Rowenta. Times are tough...buy American.

Customer Buzz
Am always a fan of Rowenta Irons, have to replace them every now and then because they don't last very long.
Recently upgraded to a DZ9080. Must say that the water for the steam don't last, probably after ironing 1 1/2 shirt I have to refill the water -----it gets a little tiresome after ironing a couple of shirts. The iron is a little
heavier than the regular ones. Apart from that, I have not recieved the mail in rebate of this iron after I sent it
in a couple of weeks ago and there is no help for this on the Rowenta website. I am not sure whether I will buy this model again when this one goes, hopefully not in the distant future.
